It won't connect to the internet through my PC June 29, 2010 W. Ellaway I bought the Offical Wii Lan Adapter in the hope of connecting it to Desktops computers wired broudband. My Xbox 360 connects to the internet just by connecting a RJ45/Cat Cable to the back of my PC when im signed into my ISP.
The Wii Lan Adapter + Wii on the other hand refuses to even be detected by my PC as a Local area Connection. I have tried everything on nintendos site to get it working with nothing resolving the issue.
You would expect when buying a Lan Adapter for your wii that you SHOULD be able to set it up a Local area Connection to your PC so you can access the internet. I can't connect the Wii directly to my wired modem as its a USB modem that has to be pluged into my Desktop to function.
The least nintendo could of done is supple a driver disc in the box for the Offical Wii Lan Adapter or made it plug and play compatible with home computers given your paying more then you would for other Lan Adapters on the Market.
Anyone know of a way of getting a home computer to detect a local area connection with a Wii through the Offical Wii lan adapter? and get it to detect the internet?
Works well June 14, 2010 Warleybear (UK) Didn't want to connect using wireless - so this did the trick. Conects either via a UTP cabling system back to your internet router or directly via a UTP flylead. Even allows the Wii to connect your TV to BBC i player.
Works out of the box! April 24, 2010 Alambique (Glasgow) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wanted to connect to my (devolo dLAN 200) wired network as iPlayer freezes regularly over my wireless link.
Bought this after a bad experience with a Lupo Wii network adapter, which didn't work at all.
Plugged it in, went thru the simple set up via internet settings menu on the Wii, and it worked straight away.
iPlayer now works perfectly.
Simple March 27, 2010 Mr Smith (England) Bought this for the kids to get online with the Wii as i didn't want to go wireless. I'm with aol and it connected with the speedtouch router via a cheap ethernet cable. Just plugged in and I was away. Works fine, with multipalyer and all the other online features.
Has made the Wii so much more fun.
Functional! February 28, 2010 Eugenesucks 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I work in IT and I could never get my Wii to connect to my wifi network. Hooking this up was thought free and required about 30 seconds. Though people may think of wired networks as clunky, they have the perks of being fast and reliable.
