had mine 2 months now in the first 2 weeks i noticed a faultso sony sent it in to be repaired it was 8 days in sonys repair shop then was returned faulty again so spent another 6 days in there was returned with scratches on the top the express port cover was missing now i am getting dead pixels on the screen

Nice machine. I like the immediate access to internet using Vaio button. Fast and responsive.
My only grouch is the touch pad mouse. It drives me to distraction. Only the left hand side moves pointer around screen. Other parts of mouse do random things such as changing the zoom, darting around screen.
I have overcome this by using a wireless portable mouse, but its a shame for such a good computer to be let down in this way.
Although I am otherwise pleased with it, I would not buy another due to this problem

A great laptop! Very fast - to get online, swap applications and such - and a wealth of new stuff with Windows 7 that you can take or leave. Easy to set up and link with scanners, printers etc. - everything is done for you in seconds.
I wouldn't actually have gone for this colour normally in a shop, (Silver outside and off white inner) but I really love it now. It's much more sight-friendly than the dark keyboards, something I never thought about before. (I bought a keyboard skin to keep it clean - but I have to have one of those anyway because I have a husband)! The keys are a good size too, helpful for for chunky fingers.
I added a wireless mouse for speed, the touchpad being all right for CSI teams!
If I could make one improvement, I would have a glare-free matt screen. The glossy screen does look very snazzy though and doesn't intefere too much.
I haven't taken this out anywhere yet, I'm still a bit possesive of my little silver baby, so I havent tested battery life or anything. I would definitely buy a Sony again, the only problem I've had has been with windows 7 and their email program. I wanted a fast PC (so I went for the best processor for the price) and I got one. Lovely laptop!! 9.9 out of 10

The first laptop went wrong within a few days - disaster, as it was a present for my wife, she HAD BEEN totally thrilled, now she was sore...and so was I. But within 24 hours we had a new one! I couldn't believe how good Amazon's replacement service was: very, very simple and we couldn't work out how they got the replacement to us so fast.
The best thing about the product is the internet connection that boots up and is running within 20 seconds as it doesn't load Windows. As this is often why one needs to turn on a laptop it seems like an obvious feature and suits my wife perfectly. Can't work out why we haven't come across this feature before.
