 Excellent Printer September 9, 2010

Ordered this printer from Amazon on Saturday and it arrived yesterday, Wednesday.
Having just played around with it and printed various items including documents and a couple of photos I am well happy!
Far better than the Epson DX7400 that expired with clogged print heads.
Its like getting a new pair of glasses!!!
Have only given four stars because I have not fully tried photo output or found out how long inks last.

We've had this printer since January 2010
Pros:
1. It is cheap.
2. The wi fi works well once it is set up.
3. Black and white text printing is fast.
4. Supplied software is easy to use.
Cons:
1. Quite large
2. Wi fi not easy to set up.
3. Each time it is switched on, it goes through a noisy and slow startup routine involving a lot of clunking and mechanical noises over a period of two or three minutes.
4. Drinks ink as an unbelievable rate.
5. Unreliable. Paper feed failed today after only 7 months of light useage.

excellent printer much quicker and quieter than my old HP
ink cartridges were a bit fiddly but after first time have got the hang of it
did have problem entering WEP code for wireless on rotary selection until I realised it was CASE SENSITIVE and if you scroll through the complete alphabet it carries on to upper/lower case, did tear my hair out till I found this out!
wireless works beutifully, one point to note is that the USB port is on the far right of the machine, so I have had to get a longer USB cable, not a big problem but depends on your setup worth considering.
Photoprinting was excellent and small sample pack supplied very useful
scanner works well and gives a clear image
well done Amazon for price!
p.s. mega sturdy box it came in is usefull as well!

I bought on strength of other reviews and am very pleased. I run two Macbook's (operating 10.6.4 ) and a PC through a BT wireless router.
Unpacking and installing the printer heads and cartridge was simple enough. Lots of wasteful packaging on cartridges. Setting up the printer was also simple. It was un boxed and printing within 10 minutes. The printer directs you what to enter (Wireless WEP Code ) and then print a document from your Mac Book and "Add Printer" from print window which is available to add. really very simple and I am not really good with these things. So far printing quality is excellent. The paper tray is very flimsy but this seems to be pretty standard. So far really pleased. Would recommend.

Good product that is quite versatile. Produces good prints with good colour in relation to the original. Basic instructions could be simpler. Print speed could be a bit quicker but for the money a very good product. Delivery was very prompt.
