4 out of 5 stars HP CB092A Officejet Pro 8000   July 28, 2010
Johnny Beerling (UK)
This printer is fine after a few initial hiccups. had trouble loading the "priint heads" as there were no slots for them in the position where they should go. On inspection it was clear the machine was not exposing them properly and it took a deal of techincal support to get them into position. Once that was solved the machine works very well and I am happy with it.

1 out of 5 stars One word - AVOID   June 21, 2010

If this printer did what it was supposed to do, it would be a seriously good printer. It doesn't. The paper load mechanism is dodgy, meaning that it can't make it through anything more than a small job without you having to intervene to reload the paper. Not what you want, especially when the printer is in one room and your PC in another!

4 out of 5 stars Hp officerjet Printer   June 21, 2010

Found this HP printer to be quieter then the one I had before which was a 5000 model. It front load paper tray, controls and ink in very helpful in the confined space I keep mine in. The set up took sometime but if you followed the instructions to the letter as I did there was no issue and once set up works fine. It's a lot quicker at printing then my last printer which I had for many years. I have had it for a few months now and found no problems with it at all. The only issue I could think you may have its obtaining replacement inks locally as a lot of places I popped into didn't stock this machines ink. However thankfully you can get them from Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars excellent, very happy with this printer   June 1, 2010

I wanted a printer that I could use wirelessly, and that did not eat ink cartridges every 1-2 weeks.
I am VERY happy with this printer.
I like the duplex function.
I had slight niggles with the installation/set up - initially the software said the printer was not compatible with wireless, but re-running the installation fixed that.
I have been very happy with the performance and quality.
I never/rarely switch it off - but it does have a sleep mode that it goes to if you have not used it for a while.

Biggest complaint: the HP software installs "Yahoo toolbar" without asking or telling you (easily uninstalled). Generally I do not like the HP Update software - but you can disable it easily enough.

4 out of 5 stars Very good   April 23, 2010

This is my third HP inkjet printer in 20 years starting with the 550C, and 895cxi which has just died after about 13 years. Both due to the paper feed mechanism.

I finally decided on this over a laser as reviews were good. So far I have had it a month and printed over a ream and the black ink that came with it is about to run out.
It is very fast, and the duplex works well but there is a pause which could be a pain if you plan to do a lot. Better to print one side and then turn the paper over.

It has separate inks but the print heads are two colour and also replacable and I will be interested to see how they perform.

I haven't printed a photo yet but colour looks good on cheap paper and crisp on quality paper.

Wireless printing from the Macbook works and the interface is better than the Windows desktop one. For example, I can see the condition of the ink and print heads on the Mac which i can't in the windows interface. I havent installed any of the free software and although the default is letter, I haven't had any problems printing A4.

It is big and quite noisy and slow starting up, but once it has done its checks, printing is fast, even in quality mode.
