5 out of 5 stars The Canon Pixma iP3600 Printer   September 4, 2010
Ernest Tuff (Ballymena N.Ireland)
I have just got this printer a month now and I'm very impressed with the the output. The printed photos are excellent, I could'nt ask for anything better. As regards the ink usage and outlay, in that department as yet I cannot say. The software is not just as handy as was the epson which I had for about 10 years, but like all things I'll get used to it as I use it. But this was a good buy.

4 out of 5 stars Good but a slow starter   August 22, 2010
A. Strother (Notts UK)
I had a strightforward HP Deskjet printer which was good quality and economical but it broke eventually. I couldn't find a decent substitute at a reasonable price in the HP range and came across this. It's a decent altenative, I like the ability to load photo paper and ordinary plain paper at the same time. The one drawback that I have found is that it is really slow to power-up and get itself ready to print (at least ten times as slow as the HP). Otherwise I am quite happy so far.

4 out of 5 stars Very good prints from a slightly flimsy printer   July 29, 2010
G. E. Harrison (Cheltenham)
The printer comes complete with ink cartridges, print head, printed instructions and setup CD ROM, it was well packaged but encased in plastic film which when removed meant the resultant static was a magnet for dust, cat hairs etc leaving its black shiny finish slightly furry. The printer is a good size - not too big but substantial enough to be stable when adjusting the various trays/flaps. However, I found that particularly the front delivery tray was very flimsy and that the cover on the bottom paper tray is badly designed so that it is forever coming off.

The setup was reasonably quick, straightforward and totally painless. Printing quality really is excellent - on paper, photo paper, card, CD labels etc and I particularly like the direct loading from the rear delivery tray. Both trays are easy to adapt to different sizes of paper. We got this printer to replace an old HP printer that had given great service for over 12 years but this Cannon produces much better prints although it seems a lot flimsier and I don't suspect it will last so long. I was also a bit surprised at how noisy the printer is (even on quiet setting) I expected a new printer to be much quieter than my ancient old printer but it isn't. I'd also expected it to be quicker at printing but it isn't much faster either.

I am delighted with the quality of photo and document printing, and I also find my PIXMA iP3600 very easy to use.

5 out of 5 stars Good all round printer   June 3, 2010
film fan
This is my first canon printer, Im not really sure why its taken me this long to see the light? Previously I have bought Epson printers and you know what I won't be going back!!

In essense the printer looks the part, build quality is good and print quality is also very good.

You have to assemble the print head before you are able to use the printer but it is straight forward if you follow the instructions. Also I must admit its taken me quite a while to get used to the printer interface/software and clibrating it has also taken some time. This may be in part that a/ I am used to Epsom printers and b/ I also bought a new monitor at the same time.

All in all it is a cracking printer for the money!
