Battery has always been a problem. Mac's battery is better than PC's, however, it lasts for about 3.5 hours rather than 5 hrs advertised.

I received my Macbook about a month ago and it has now become something I can't live without. It is so intuitive, I was worried that apple would constrict my use of different programs but everything is available for the Mac. I have also split my hard drive so I have both operating systems, Windows and OS X through Bootcamp which works perfectly for me as I am a CAD user. The graphics card with the 4GB RAM (which I upgraded separately) allows me to use all graphics programs, including 3D software, rapidly and smoothly, running at the same speed as a Macbook Pro and certainly at a better speed than any other Laptop in this price bracket. I spent a long time researching both PC laptops and Macbooks and if you are looking for a high-spec laptop the equivalent laptops are only fractionally cheaper and certainly the quality of this laptop is much higher. One final point if you are looking at Macbook Pros, as I was, the specifications are almost identical, especially the lower end Macbook Pro the main difference is that it would be called a 'Macbook Pro', which isn't worth the 100 or so quid extra.

Well almost everything, I recently purchased my new macbook and was very surprised to find that within a few weeks the screen developed a dead pixel. Considering the price of the Macbook and the impression gained from the Apple website being one of quality I expected a product free of even minor defects. I am very disappointed with Apple especially as Apple care will not authorise a repair unless there are a certain number of dead pixels.
Had my macbook been free of defects I would have given a four star review as viewing angles for the screen are not quite what I expected.
This is just my experience and hopefully if you do decide to buy a Mac, for you everything will work.

i have always used my husband's desktop which has got progressively got slower. i recently had a child and needed a computer which i could use around the house.
i went for a macbook over a pc after speaking to mac book fans. i must say the arrival of the product signified the simplicity of the apple company. Beautiful looking product which works even quicker than the PC. i can find no fault with this product. just buy it.

Having just received my new macbook yesterday am, delivered promptly via Amazon, I felt obliged to add to the many positive reviews this great machine has generated. This is my first macbook having been a PC stalwart for the last 7 years. I did have some concerns as to how easy it would be getting used to the MAC operating system but I shouldn't have worried. Everything is self-explanatory - the programmes are intuitively easy to follow so much so that I had organized all my files and documents within the first couple of hours! The drag and drop facility was so easy....by contrast it makes doing similar tasks on windows appear cumbersome and slow. Granted, this is a higher spec machine than my previous PC laptop but one of the reasons I bought this was for portability....you might think MACs are expensive and true, they're definitely not cheap but a similar spec PC laptop of similar size would cost you just as much, if not more. Plus, let's face it, in terms of presentation and style in addition to functionality, apple wins hands down. Its early days yet but I'm glad I took the apple plunge!
