3 out of 5 stars TomTom XL   December 15, 2009
Aspire
It's Ok, mine makes squeaky noises whilst on
(don't know if it's only mine or it's some kind of a fault).
Nice big screen, suction ring works perfect and holds TomTom in place - it has never fallen off.
The battery doesn't last long though.

1 out of 5 stars Yes,but.....   October 22, 2009
R. A. Fowler
I bought an XL in Jan 09,specifically to use it for a touring holiday in the Midlands in June. It worked half way from Filey,Nth Yorks to our holiday hired cottage. It then lost it's head on the M18,instructing us to make U turns and showing us in the middle of fields. We had this sort of nonsense for a fortnight. Since then I have complained repeatedly to Tomtom and been given nothing but the run-around. Repeated re-installation of the OS,silly comments and form replies. After yet another fiasco last week I turned really nasty, and have now been told to send the thing back for repair--not,as would be best, for replacement. Quite how one could repair a sealed unit I can't imagine. I fear that it will be returned to me as tested and working, since it can and does work for an hour or two before losing us in the middle of nowhere. When it fails again--and it will--it will be Consumer Protection time. Why do firms insist on making enemies of their customers? My daughter and my grandson have working Tomtoms--and that is all I want.

4 out of 5 stars Thank goodness for Sean   October 9, 2009

I have a terrible sense of direction and as my job is taking me on more unfamiliar journeys, I thought it was time to get a sat nav.
I did a little research and to be honest got a bit confused, so asked around and decided after weighing up all the evidence and opinion, to get a Tom Tom.
The product arrived quickly and does all it claims to do.
My daughter chose "Sean" to guide us and it's lovely to hear him say "You have reached your destination" - and to see that we have!
I only wish I'd got one sooner.

4 out of 5 stars Tom Tom XL Sat Nav - UK & ROI (v2)   September 27, 2009
L. Brown (uk)
This is the first Sat Nav that I have purchased, although I have experience of such gadgets from friends & family. I selected the Tom Tom XL (V2) based on Price Runner which enabled me to compare price against specification. The unit is slim, the touch screen facility easy to use and uncomplicated to navigate around the numerous functionalities. Though little used at present, I am extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to utilising the more of the functions the product comprises.TomTom XL Satellite Navigation System - UK & ROI (v2)

4 out of 5 stars Great First SatNav   September 14, 2009
Mr. N. G. Parris (UK)
Arrived 2 days after ordering (and we live in a rural area) on the standard postage option. Totally recommend it to anyone who is travelling around the uk. Usually picks up signals quite quickly however it does occasionally get confused in places such as Bath, however works well in more remote areas which makes up for this flaw. Simple to use, updates quickly on the internet couldn't live without it, definitely beats trying to find your way on a map. We haven't owned one until now and love how it estimates your time of arrival. The widescreen is nice and easy to read.
